HANDLING THE BELT

Our beltdrive are extremely durable and offer long life when properly handled. However, caution must be used before and during installation to avoid damaging the carbon tensile cords that make up the backbone of the belt's strength. Excessive bending and twisting creates crimps which can lead to belt breakage under high load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a belt drive affect my motorcycle’s performance or power?

Absolutely not, in fact, it enhances it. We invested time in developing our motorcycle belt drive and ensured it was dyno-tested by Race Dynamics. The results confirmed that our system delivers +2.6 HP and +1.4 Nm torque gain for super meteor 650 compared to the traditional chain drive. With Mtechnics, your belt drive ensures smoother power delivery, better efficiency, and proven performance gains for a premium riding experience.

What is a belt drive, and how is it different from a chain drive?

A belt drive for motorcycles replaces the traditional chain with a high-strength, carbon-reinforced belt. Unlike chains, belts don't require lubrication, run much quieter, and last significantly longer without maintenance. They also reduce vibration, making your ride smoother and more comfortable.

Does a belt drive need any maintenance?

Very little. Unlike chain drives that need frequent cleaning and lubrication, a belt drive for motorcycles is
maintenance-free under normal riding conditions. Just keep it clean from heavy mud or stones, and you're ready for a long, smooth ride.

What is the typical lifespan of a Mtechnics belt drive?

Lifespan may vary depending on riding style, terrain, and maintenance, but for most riders, it translates into years of high-performance riding without compromise.

Is a belt drive suitable for daily city commuting?

A belt drive is designed for long-distance, highway cruising use, where its durability, smoothness, and low maintenance truly shine. At Mtechnics, we recommend our belt drive system for riders who enjoy touring, weekend rides, and long journeys rather than daily city commuting.

Is there any warranty provided ?

Yes, Mtechnics belt drive has 2 Years of unlimited KM warranty.

Is it a rubber belt?

No. Mtechnics belt drives use an advanced polyurethane synchronous belt system with carbon-fiber tensile cords, engineered for high performance and long-lasting durability. The carbon-fiber reinforcement allows higher horsepower handling while keeping the system compact, lightweight, and flexible.

When paired with precision-engineered performance sprockets, the system forms a maintenance-free, clean-running drivetrain that consistently outperforms traditional roller chains.

Key Benefits:

  • High-strength polyurethane construction that resists chemicals, oil, pollutants, and abrasion
  • Reliable operation in extreme temperatures ranging from -54°C to +85°C (-65°F to +185°F).
  • High power density with lightweight, clean-running performance.

This advanced material composition ensures maximum durability and consistent performance even under high torque loads and long-distance touring conditions. Unlike rubber belts, it requires no lubrication and maintains stable efficiency throughout its service life.

What material is pulleys made up of?

Pulley is made of heat treated steel alloy.

How often should I check the alignment of the belt?

We recommend checking the belt alignment every 5000 km or during your regular bike service. A quick visual inspection after long rides or rough road conditions is also a good practice to ensure optimal performance and prevent unnecessary wear.
